SCRAP is NOT currently accepting new volunteer applications due to COVID-19. We will update our community when we are able to once again safely
resume our volunteer program. Thank you for your patience.
We Love Our Volunteers!
Last year SCRAP volunteers nationwide contributed almost 19,000 hours of their time and energy to help us fulfill our mission. Most volunteers are scheduled for one 3-hour shift in
the store each week, as well help in many other ways.
Volunteers do things like:
Sort and organize the SCRAP store
Assemble To Go Kits and Collage Packs that we sell in the store
Volunteer at SCRAP events
Assist with Workshops

Volunteer Opportunities in the Store
Fabric pricing
Join our elite team of volunteers who help us price the heaps of fabric that is donated to SCRAP. You will also help us keep the fabric section looking organized and eye-catching.
If you love to organize then you’ll love helping us! Volunteers are the main force behind keeping our store clean and organized. You’ll assist with organizing sections, putting
out materials and keeping the store looking nice.
Packaging
Color sort and package all of the little bits that come into our store. From yarn ball bags to fabric packs, bagging game pieces to making bargain bags, there’s a lot you can help us
creatively package here at SCRAP.
Product
Help SCRAP make our ever-popular To Go Kits and Collage Packs for us to sell both in the store and at community events.
Non-store Opportunities
These opportunities are only available to volunteers who also work in the store. They may not be available at all times.
Education Program
Are you passionate about kid's art education and teaching the next generation to generate less waste? Then this opportunity is for you. Education Program volunteers must fill out an
application and also submit a resume to volunteer@scrapdenton.org. Please mention that you are interested in volunteering for the Education Program.
Community Engagement
You can help table at volunteer recruitment events, info booths and craft activities throughout the Denton area. You can also help out at our yearly events.
Street Team
Let’s cover this town with SCRAP info! You can help spread the word about SCRAP through posting flyers at your favorite haunts and using social media.
Volunteer Assistants
Sometimes we need volunteers to help us with special tasks that require more time and a bigger commitment of usually a year. Some past examples have been working with our Re:Vision Gallery, assisting our Education and Volunteer leaders and writing for our blog.
